spherical railroad track by suckup spherical railroad track by suckup
it's a strange feeling to last on a railroad track. the whole procedure takes about 3 minutes and i wasn't sure if the rails were still in use :)

38 pictures stitched together.

I love it, But I'd love it more if it was flipped on it's side to almost represent an eye

A really great pic. Have you tried putting it into a panorama viewer, like Quicktime VR?

DUDE!! I was so thinking up this same one this past weekend. There are rail road tracks, only lots of them side by side and some with rail cars still on them. Its on private property so I am still waiting to hear on permission to cross the fence and shoot there.

Thanks for the fav and watch, I will have to get around your gallery some more now as well!

I'm getting an urge to fav every single one of these 360 things. Although I hate faving things in general. But they're all so... so... erk, cool doesn't really cut it. Maybe I'm just weird, but I like the cloud patterns especially o.O

That's so WEIRD! @_@ It's like...one few-acre area was streched into a sphere. It kinda looks like an eye, too.

I must say...wow! I haven't seen this kind of panorama photography before - well done! A whole new look onto the world :) The otherwise a bit dull scenery has been made very interesting compiling the photos like this.
By the way...the tracks remind me of a cats eye.

Indeed, great photography here! Allow me to add you to my watchlist ;)

Ps: Would you like to share some technical information about the lens you're using? Or the method you use to take the pictures to get a full 360 view. You can contact me via note for example :)

Hey I'm glad you like it!
i used a Nikon D70s camera with the standard 18-70 mm kit lens plus a tripod with a special panoramic head [link]

i took 38 images with 18 mm focal length. 12 images (every 30 degrees) in horizontal position, 12 shots 45 degrees down and 12 photos 45 degrees up in the sky, plus one 90 degrees up into the sky and one (without the tripod) on the ground. that gives me 38 images.
then i combined them with some stitching software (there are hundrets, some of the are free, some of the very expensive) and rendered it into a spherical image, imported this into photoshop and used the filter polar coordinates.

that's it ;)

Oh :o I own that same lens! I have the D70.

So thats the way, thank you for sharing! I will have a try on that soon. I have the manfrotto 488rc0 ball head in my tripod, so that does the trick for the horizontal position becouse it has the degrees in it. But for the up and down positions...that would be the hard part. So.. I would have to do them by hand :|
